One of the most remarkable festivals held in Bulgaria - the Rose Festival, returned after a one-year break. The series of events attracted more than 10,000 guests from all over the world to Kazanlak. The specially prepared program in the Valley of Roses "took us back to the roots" to appreciate the beauty of Bulgarian customs.
Traditionally, the culmination of the 118th Rose Festival in Kazanlak was the ritual dance of the rose pickers. Some of the official guests also took part in the harvest, such as the ambassadors of Russia (Eleonora Mitrofanova) and Japan (Narahira Hiroshi), the ambassadors of Algeria (Latifa Benazza), India (Sanjay Rana) and the Slovak Republic (Manuel Korcek), as well as the ambassador of Vietnam (Doan Tuan Lin).
The festive parade of the aroma and beauty of the oil-bearing flower passed through the entire central part of the town of Kazanlak. It was attended by over 3,500 participants who honored the colors of the rose and the centuries-old tradition of collecting the royal rose.
The celebrations began in mid-May with the competition performance "Queen Rose 2021", followed by a bunch of other events for young and old. After the "Ball of the Rose" there was an exhibition "The Magic of the Rose", an exhibition of authentic Bulgarian costumes, a special performance, a festive concert and the performance of various rituals.
Among the most interesting moments were the national competitions for children and adults, during which guests had the opportunity to see some of the best dancers in the country. And for the finale of the Rose Festival this year there is a spectacular show with motorcycles and a national competition for performers (this weekend), as well as a competition in classical, characteristic and modern dances (June 20).
